The unique and diversified talents of Vicki Cooper have for over 25 years beautified some of the most famous faces in America.
Raised in San Diego, since the age of seven, she was a student of piano, fine art, and theater. She received private instruction in fine art for eleven years with emphases in portraitures. At 17 she decided to pursue her theatrical ambitions. Because of the fine art back-ground and passion for portraits, Ms. Cooper took to make-up quite naturally and was sought after for her artistry by many theater companies, including the Starlight Opera Company, the Old Globe Theater, and the San Diego Opera Company.
In 1976, after receiving degrees in communication, speech and theater arts from Pepperdine University in Malibu, and working for several years as a make-up artist on commercials, her career took a dramatic turn.
In 1977, she was hired by a highly respected Beverly Hills Skin Care Salon as a make-up artist. It was there that her fascination with skin care began. “I quickly observed techniques of the day and knew that there had to be a better way of improving skin. I observed women, desperate for good skin, walking in and leaving dissatisfied with the lack of results and improvement.” Shortly thereafter, Ms. Cooper received the unique opportunity of studying with Dr. Clyde Johnson, a renowned organic biochemist who soon became her mentor.
After her stay in Beverly Hills, and visiting some of the most famous spas in the Orient and Europe, she formulated her renowned facial treatments utilizing world class theloso-therapy and aromatherapy. In 1978 she opened the first make-up/skin care spa facility in Malibu and ten years later, expanded her salon to the prestigious Colony Plaza, Malibu.
In the early nineties, Vicki collaborated in the research and development for several product lines, internationally distributed today. Through her research, she developed the belief that skin care products should emulate the body’s own chemistry and work in concert with, not in conflict with the body’s matrix. Her vision led to creating her proprietary, unique skin care line, ECOLOGICA™ which is one of the most effective and holistic lines available today.
Ms. Cooper took esthetics one step further by being one of the first to offer Permanent Make-up, duplicated after ancient oriental techniques. Her talents are referred by leading plastic surgeons and dermatologist because of the artistry of her work and the natural appearances that she is able to achieve.
Ms. Cooper is a certified aromatherapist, a member of the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF AESTHETICIANS, CEDESCO, AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, the SOCIETY OF PERMANENT COSMETIC PROFESSIONALS and the Trichotillomania Learning Center.
She has lectured and published numerous articles on skin care and make-up and has recently been included in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICAN SKIN CARE.
